Technical SEO can seem daunting. However, understanding the principles is important. There may be parts you can try, or work on with your developer. Google will be looking to see if you have put any time into the content or just put up some content with minimal work. They want to see that you have actually put some effort into putting together something useful to the visitor and that it is good quality content. With Google factoring in the strength of your backlink profile heavily into their search results if you have a bigger backlink profile and more top quality backlinks you will rank higher. Familiarize your content creators with basic SEO practices and ensure they work closely with the SEO team to create material that will rank as highly as possible from the moment of publication.

Do a spring cleaning

Keywords are still an important part of SEO, but relevance can often be figured in more abstract ways. Basically a search engine searches the web using automated programs called web crawlers. The crawlers follow links from page to page, they then send a copy of each page back to the search engine, which then builds an index of the words on each page. Imagine the billions of webpages to be searched when a keyword is typed into the searchbox and the answer comes on your screen within a matter of minutes? If over time your site has acquired an average of 5 links per day, and then the links suddenly start to come in at a rate of 10 per day, that could be seen as a positive ranking signal. On the other hand, if the rate of new links drops to two per day, that could be a signal that your site has become less relevant.

Not recommended: thin content pages

Hiring a professional website designer can help with the cosmetics and get you taken seriously by your visitors. You'll also want to be sure that you're not misleading visitors, they should be getting what was advertised when they looked at the site's description. Once you’ve identified opportunities you’ll want to decide on whether to create a new page from scratch or to make changes and improvements to one of your current web pages. Google is looking for answers to the user’s query that provides the answer to the question in a succinct manner. Formatting your HTML and providing content that clearly answers the question will help you rank well. Good quality takes time to create. It takes time to implement. And it takes time for Google to acknowledge that quality. There are other methods of driving traffic to your website, including via social media, online advertising, referrals from other websites, and more. However, search engine traffic remains one of the most common and cost-effective methods of receiving traffic.

Offer a post-specific resource

Your blog posts shouldn’t be treated equally. Only select the posts that had the biggest positive impact on your business. Understanding and recognizing how PageRank flows can make a difference in your SEO campaigns. The difference in many cases will be small, but in a competitive environment, every advantage counts. URLs with words that are relevant to your site's content and structure are friendlier for visitors navigating your site. Visitors remember them better and might be more willing to link to them. We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "You can stop improving certain pages, but the site as a whole can always be improved."

Is the content on different pages original?

Creating content that consistently drives traffic to your site is a win; however, not all traffic is created equal. The challenge is finding a balance of content that is interesting, sustainable, and relevant to your business interests. Don't limit your ideas; brainstorm whatever subjects and phrases could lead the kinds of visitors you want to your site. Type them into a spreadsheet. Your brainstorming will "prime the keyword pump." Do not try to avoid no-follow links completely. These links may have value in improving your search rank. It is important to note that search and offline behavior have a heavy degree of interaction, with search playing a growing role in driving offline sales.
