When you write something new, tweet the link, encourage your followers to share the link and post it on social media sites. When a link is attached and sent around Twitter, real-time searches will be more successful for your search engine goals. So how do you determine your competition? What should you be looking for?

Does your site sabotage your content?

Content syndication is the term used for the tactical republishing of your original article on another third-party website. It’s particularly useful if you’re a smaller publisher or an up-and-coming writer who wants a larger audience. Over the years, I’ve gotten very far with my on-page SEO strategy. You’d be surprised: Smart on-page SEO and especially internal link structure can get you amazing results in search engines. Link Exchange is another good way for building links. However, you need to be careful with this one. I am not asking to go around ‘asking people for links’. Just move subtly with it. While we all enjoy seeing the keywords rank well in the search engines, this doesn’t necessarily mean your SEO campaign is successful.

As hinted at earlier, companies need to create a responsive website instead of creating desktop websites and expecting them to work on mobile. What Google wants to see is authoritative and relatable links talking about your site. You can’t just write a great headline and trust that the clicks will come rolling in

The key to link building is RELEVANCY. Therefore building links in niche directories and directories attached to informative websites relevant to your industry are beneficial for you. Google wants users the most relevant results for their search. The more relevant your content is to their search, the more likely your website will be number 1 on Google. Google wants to know about the keyword usage. You should ensure the keywords are properly applied in the title tag and have properly crafted meta-description. Then, the content should be of significant content. Can Google Assistant & voice search really help those who need it the most?

Google will take action against domains that try to rank more highly by just showing scraped or other cookie-cutter pages that don't add substantial value to users. In the earlier days of SEO, the organic search engine optimization discipline was more of a technical skill, of making sites crawlable. Then the focus switched to creating quality content where keywords were used in a natural way. Do the main pages of the site have enough content? Do these pages all make use of header tags? A subtler variation of this is making sure the number of pages on the site with little content is not too high compared to the total number of pages on the site. It isn't just about the number of links that are going to a domain, but about the quality of those links. Unfortunately, this isn't something you can do quickly overnight.
